What is techPortal?

With the launch of the Ibuildings PHP Centre of Expertise, PHP developers now have access to a new online resource: Ibuildings techPortal. The site is designed to be a resource base for advanced PHP topics, containing white papers, podcasts, and other useful information to help you in your PHP projects.

But aren't there a zillion sites like this already?

Well, yes and no. The Internet is full of excellent resources for PHPers - starting from mashup sites such as phpdeveloper.org and planet-php.net - and the php|architect magazine delivers information in the more traditional format (it is of course available in digital format, too). We love these sites, proven by the fact that many of our own guys and gals regularly contribute to some of them. But we want to show our support on the company level, too, by offering something exclusive: the techPortal caters to the hardcore PHPers - meaning advanced topics and proper techie talk. Coming up during the first weeks of February are a couple of in-depth articles on topics such as memcached and phpUnderControl.

As the techPortal will be an excellent resource for the serious geeks, we have decided to leave the technical bits to the PCE - you can subscribe to their RSS feeds to stay up-to-date on what's new on the site. This newsletter will focus on covering PHP-related topics from the business perspective.
